Recommended Posts

I saw a coupon book called the "Fun Ship" Values Fabulous Onboard Offers for 2005 - it has a green front and has coupons for Wine, Buy 1 smoothie get the 2nd free, Free Carnival Souvenir glass with any frozen drink, $5 Free Play Chip, Purchase an entry into any Oceans Player Club Tournament and receive a 2nd Tournament entry free, etc.

Where can I get this coupon book at?

So where can I get a coupon book at? Only my PVP?

I would hope they wouldn't charge for them! LOL! Some TA's send them out with docs, I don't think it is something you request, it is something some use as a "perk"

Well my Carnival PVP just emailed me and said that she did not know of any coupon book that was being distributed at the present time. She said they mostly go out when they are having some sort of special promotion. Said if she comes across anything like this she will be sure to send one out to me. IMHO---it doesn't sound like I will be getting one before we sail on 7-31.

Let's look at some of these "deals":

free work of art valued up to $95
Everyone who stays through to the end of the art auction gets this, coupon or not.
20% off spa when ship is in port
Standard sale price, coupon not required.
free souvenir glass with purchase of frozen drink
Again, coupon not required.

you get when you sign up for the Sea Miles credit card on board???

The CD (Triumph 6/27) kept mentioning a coupon book- and winners throughout the week were getting copies of a coupon book (following plugs for the credit card)

I googled the coupon book and was able to take a look at all the coupons that were available. I thought it to be a plus to have it on the ship. Now if I can just get one. I emailed my PVP about the coupon book, but he hasn't gotten back to me yet.

Does anyone know how many days before the cruise I will receive my tickets and packet of info?

Thank you:) :)

You can get documents-- a few days til afew weeks before your cruise.

If youdont get them within 10 days from sailing--call the agent. But some people get them a month before.

My PVP told me to contact the Bon Voyage Department, who transferred me to a customer representative and I even spoke to a supervisor and this is the "story" about the coupon books.......

Carnival said they give the coupon books to travel agents only to pass along to persons who book with the TA, however, since I book directly with Carnival I did not quality to receive an on board coupon book.

I couldn’t believe this statement and specifically asked.. “Had I booked with a travel agent and not a Carnival PVP would I have received a coupon book?

They said yes!!

WOW?!?

I booked with a Travel Agent and didn't get any coupon book with my docs.:( Did Carnival tell you on which ships they are accepted? The walkie-talkie coupon is interesting, since I have 2 kids that will be in different camps. I had to buy 2 sets of them, but haven't opened the packages yet. I didn't realize you could rent them on board!

August Cruiser, how to you get that EEK! face after your WOW?

EEK - click on the down arrow by the smile which is in the first line by the text options and select a Smile or click on the "smilies" on the right side of the box and they will appear.

I'm sorry you didn't get a coupon book either -

Will Walkie Talkies work on the ships? My DH and I have debated this topic, he says no way, too much steel, but then I saw the coupon....:)

AugustCruiser, I don't have those options you have. When I hit POST REPLY, I have a box with Post Icons, but there are only 14 basic smilies or thumbs up/down icons. Even when I click on a chosen one, it only shows up on the title line. I have put my own in with regular characters, and they turn into various smilies. I can't find the rolling eyes, either.

Any suggestions?

Sunrunner3, we are cruising to Halifax on the Triumph July 25. I was wondering if you had any special recommendations for anything different, that I wouldn't find in the typical tour book?

Thanks!

actuually it will be cheaper to buy your own. By the time you rent them all on a ship== you copuld have bought a few more.

Walkie talkies do work on the ship. Annoying yes. But used wisely they come in handy. Please use another name other then Mom or Dad/ Plenty of kids will be using them and saying mom? then all the moms yell into the thing...what???

Also-- you will always be picking up someother people on the channel. Go further down towards the end and it shoul dbe ok.

Hopefully you get the kidnd with recharable batteries... if not take plenty coz it wil eat through the batteries like your kids will go through pizza.

Have your kids turn them off while in the shows.. or if something is going on in the public area. I can not tell you how many times we have enocuntered kids screaming in on the walkie talkies trying to get mom to know where they are..

Heads up-- the phones in each cabin are equipped with voice mail- that can be activated using any phone thats it the public area. cheap and less annoying
