hellopuppies Posted December 2, 2013 #1 Share Posted December 2, 2013 Hi dear, We are a couple who will be sailing the Indy from Southampton in Sept, 2014. This is our first time cruising from UK so we plan to arrive London early in the morning one the day prior and will take the RCI transfter from LHR to Southampton cruise terminal. I did some research here and found the Heathrow airports are in good price, however I wonder if the transportation charge to board the hop-on tour bus will be expensive or not. Please give some inputs or recommendations for us, thanks in advance!
Rare insidecabin Posted December 4, 2013 #2 Share Posted December 4, 2013 Which terminal/time do you arrive? The hotel prices vary a lot and some are not that convenient to get to for bag drop then head back to the transport links to head into the city(15min express - 45mins underground). https://www.heathrowexpress.com/ http://www.heathrowairport.com/transport-and-directions/underground a lot of hotels require the use of the hoppa(no free transfers) and might take upto an hour to drop bags and get back to transport links http://www.heathrowairport.com/transport-and-directions/buses-and-coaches/hotel-buses This adds to the hotel costs at heathrow. there are hotels linked to T4 and T5 which are walkable. Check where and at what time the RCI pickup is for the trip to Southampton.
