Epic-smoke?

DH and I are interested in booking our first NCL cruise on the Epic. I have read though that smoke can be a problem due to the location of the casino. Wondering if I could get some opinions here, please. DH is sensitive to smoke so wondering if it is really a problem. Many thanks :)

There have been many reports that support that theory and deny it. So you will get a lot of opinions on both sides.

I'm sure there are many smoking threads on the Epic that you could do a search for. They are probably closed because they get heated, but still available to look at.

My advice, if you personally find it bad in a certain area, avoid that area. Pretty simple really. The Epic is a very large ship, lots of other places to be.

My family and I did not have any problems with smoke while on the Epic last month. If you walk through the casino area, yes it is a little smoky but they control it well. Also you don't have to walk through the casino.

Occasionally I would smell smoke on my balcony. All depended on how the wind was blowing. Pretty much the same experience as on other ships I've been on.

I have allergies and asthma so smoke typically bothers me. Although on the ship I had no problems at all.

We were on the Epic in July and the smoke didn't bother us. Sometimes in the casino when it was really busy you noticed it, but then we would just leave or go to another section where it was less noticeable. Never smelled any smoke on the balcony at all and never noticed it anywhere else on the ship.

I would consider myself to be sensitive to smoke as well and when we were on Epic I didnt have an issue. I even played a slots tournament. There are ways to avoid the area if its an issue but in all honesty its a great ship and I wouldnt avoid it for this reason. Entertainment is excellent and the food was outstanding. we are on Epic again in Feb.

You definitely smell smoke when you walk through the casino area, however the ship that has real problems is the Breakaway. The smoke on the Epic used to be bad in the areas surrounding the casino, but I think they've worked hard, put in air filtering systems etc to improve the situation. We avoided the smoke on the a epic by avoiding or walking through the casino.
