It's not the same at all.

 

You don't have to take electronics out of your bag.

you keep your shoes on.

You can leave outwear on (though who needs outerwear in Miami!!!)

There's no "3-1-1" liquids restriction (you can bring your toiletries through)

You're not going to have a stranger shove their hands down your pants during an "enhanced pat down"

There are no x-ray nudie scaners, just a standard metal detector

Yes that would be much different thanks helps with the packing etc :)

You are right, my apologies, I was focused on just the xray and scanner - or maybe I just put all that bad stuff out of my mind!:D

If you can remember airport security before 9/11, it is very similar to that, quick and painless. They are just scanning for obvious item that would be dangerous or a hazard on the ship...and items that look like bottles or cans of alcoholic beverages, which if they see they will ask to inspect. Also, as you re board the ship at port stops, you also go through a similar scan each time just inside the entrance to the ship.
