Rare Auntiejo Posted December 6, 2013 #1 Share Posted December 6, 2013 We're going on the Southern Caribbean 10 day on the Emerald in March and we're considering skipping out on the formal nights. Just not as into that as we used to be, and don't know if we want to go to all the trouble of packing all that gear. We're not fans of the buffet for dinner. Can we dine in the Crown Grill or Sabatini on those nights if we're dressed in "smart casual" wear? Will we stand out like a couple of sore thumbs? Their dress code on formal nights is "smart casual" although you'll see everything from semi-formal to casual.
NewPennCruiser Posted December 6, 2013 #3 Share Posted December 6, 2013 We do it all the time and so do many others. People will be in formal attire (you'll see that at the buffet too) but you won't stick out. Enjoy yourself! Dave

Can we dine in the Crown Grill or Sabatini on those nights if we're dressed in "smart casual" wear? Will we stand out like a couple of sore thumbs? Yes, smart casual is fine and what most wear. The past January on Emerald, we *ended up at Crown Grill for dinner on formal night. DH was the only passenger there wearing a tux. :D Most men were wearing dress pants and a golf type shirt or one with a collar. * New friends we'd met in a lounge had reservations for four at Crown and one of the couples got way too much sun and didn't feel like going so the other couple talked us into going with them.
