CAS Question

So, looking for some insight here. We just got back from a 10 day on the NCL Sun. I got about 6,000 points give or take. Qualified for "Hot" on 2nd to last day. Anyways, I received a call today saying I qualified for a free cruise for 2, just pay taxes and port fees. Did I get this offer because of my play and my first trip, or should I expect to get this kind of offer each time I get that level of play? I already get Premier offers from Carnival and hope to start using both companies if this is standard. Thanks for the input!

Joe

Once you establish play history with NCL you do not have to wait to be contacted with offers, you can call CAS to inquire if you are eligible for any comps or discounts for a cruise you are interested in taking. As long as you keep up a decent level of play with NCL you should expect comps or discounts. After my first NCL cruise which was a comp from a land casino I received a minisuite comp on a Pearl Caribbean cruise, followed by a spa minisuite comp on a Breakaway Bermuda cruise, and leaving in a little over a month on a 12 day Caribbean in an aft. balcony on the Breakaway. My points were a bit higher than yours, but points are not the only factor in determining comps, other factors include length of play per day, average bet, etc. Good Luck.

I'll second Nightengale212's response. We're longtime CAS cruisers, and while we often receive cruise offers from both CAS and Harrah's, our usual method is to decide where and when we want to cruise and contact CAS to see what they'll do for us.

You will continue to receive cruise offers from CAS as long as you cruise and gamble. In our experience, the quality of the offers varies according to the ship and itinerary, for the same level of gambling. For instance, you'll get a better comp on a smaller ship, western Caribbean cruise than you will on the Epic, eastern Caribbean, simply because it's easier for NCL to fill the Epic on that popular itinerary, and they have less need of giving away rooms through CAS.

Also, the cruise line casino programs have long memories. We still receive comp offers from Carnival, even though we have not cruised with them in many years. The offers aren't wonderful, but obviously they're trying to lure us back.
