Skipper Tim Posted December 7, 2013 #2 Share Posted December 7, 2013 Are the main dining rooms open for lunch on the day of embarkation? If not, are they open to check out our dinner assignment seating before dinner? In my experience the MDRs are not open for lunch on the main changeover day. One of the Maitre D's, possibly the big chief, will make himself available at a venue and time communicated to you in writing at embarkation for any changes or queries. On the Musica, it was exactly the same time that cabins became available, i.e. a little after lunchtime. You can change your dining arrangements at any time, but it is clearly better to do this at the earliest opportunity. Your table and sitting will be printed on your cruise card you receive before boarding. On the Fantasia, I sought out the table in the MDR to make sure it was suitable and did not need to see the Maitre D'. If anything about the dining arrangements is not to your liking, get in the queue to see the Maitre D'. Tim.
footzz Posted December 7, 2013 #3 Share Posted December 7, 2013 On our recent cruise, the main dining rooms we not open on embarkation day. Be sure and check your seating assignment when you receive your cruise card. Ours was the complete opposite of the dining times we requested when we booked. If you experience a problem, speak with the Maître d'. He was available around 2:00pm on our cruise.
