sharecruises Posted December 9, 2013 #1 Share Posted December 9, 2013 OK Carnival.. all your cost cutting and all the complaints and problems...here are 2 very easy fixes... 1) Bring back the cover band. The Filipino cover bands were fabulous. Yeah we get that you don't want a huge real show (Like I saw on MSC Divina last month - dancers, singers, European Cirque acts, and much more)....you have cut back to 8 singer/dancers ....but please...get rid of one of the DJ's and bring back the cover band. It can't cost that much and it would greatly enhance the cruises and bring back the "fun" in fun ship 2) Move the late night adult comedy shows to the main showroom....don't make this such a high anxiety time for us...don't make us leave and line up and wait in line.... Yeah we get that you want to sell drinks....so put lots of servers with pushcarts in the show room...set up rolling bars at the entry doors...whatever whatever....but stop the insanity OK? I am looking forward to my Conquest cruise on Sunday - love the 2.0, hear Conquest is beautiful...but...yeah I am worried about the entertainment and the comedy club lines. I think these 2 simple suggestions would greatly enhance the experience for so many passengers. Oh yeah Carnival - you can send me a check for this marketing expertise :)

Branman Posted December 9, 2013 #4 Share Posted December 9, 2013 They could always just do 3 nights of comedy per pair of comedians instead of two and be sure to advertise the fact that they are repeating shows.
MarriedInStThomas1807 Posted December 10, 2013 #5 Share Posted December 10, 2013 When we were on the Liberty this past March there was a cover band that played in the casino a few of the nights that were AWESOME! I also hope they do more of this! :)

cruzn buckeye Posted December 10, 2013 #7 Share Posted December 10, 2013 totally agree. I don't do facebook. But someone should post these suggestions on JH facebook and see how many favorable comments it gets. The beards do pay attention.
sharecruises Posted December 10, 2013 Author #8 Share Posted December 10, 2013 The thing about these 2 ideas - very little cost but would lead to a LOT of happiness...better reviews....people coming back to Carnival and re=booking carnival The cover band also keeps people dancing...and DRINKING :) Even if harder to sell booze in showroom you would have a LOT more people there....I find the comedy club so crowded and uncomfortable - hard to even get a drink. The showroom for late shows would really be fun Heck they could sell a round of bingo between shows and make more $$$ that way LOL
Rirruto Posted December 10, 2013 #9 Share Posted December 10, 2013 Have been on the Liberty twice this year and have not experienced much of a "cutback" on live music. They've had a ton of live music, including the cover bands. There were also solo guitarists (sometimes accompanied by bongo drummer), a singer and keyboard duo in the lobby, a Latin band, the piano bar, and I believe the show band did a couple of events other than the actual Broadway-style shows as well. I do agree on the late night comedy being in the show lounge. The comedy club is always packed to the gills, don't know why it can't be in the more spacious room. I guess they are trying to create the same vibe as a local comedy club on land.

I can only hope Conquest has such a good band remove one guitar player and one dj and bring back the Filipino cover bands
golfadj Posted December 10, 2013 #12 Share Posted December 10, 2013 Agree with both. We have always seen the cover band but they have been puttingthem outside the casino which is a really dumb place for them. Cannot hear well over the noise and too many people walking back and forth. Put comedy club where it belongs the main showroom and give the back lounge to cover band or at least on Conquest class put them accross from piano bar. They inconvenience their passengers by putting late night comedy club in back lounge where people cannot see it unless they get there real early. hihosilvers Posted December 10, 2013 #13 Share Posted December 10, 2013 Great suggestions! I suggest we start a thread about what improvements Carnival can make, at little -to-no cost - and then send all the ideas to John Heald. These two are a great start. Moz Posted December 10, 2013 #15 Share Posted December 10, 2013 totally agree. I don't do facebook. But someone should post these suggestions on JH facebook and see how many favorable comments it gets. The beards do pay attention. Your ideas are excellent and relevant the only thing is if you put them on JH facebook saying they came from CC his minions will put them down and make fun of anything suggested on CC and JH will always agree that he can't stand any ideas from this site which is too bad. While on the liberty this past year there was no way to get into the comedy club too crowded. I don't think they will ever change this because most of the suggestions are to change the show to the showroom and these suggestions come from this site. Too bad. golfadj Posted December 10, 2013 #16 Share Posted December 10, 2013 Another excellent idea!!! Thanks Many people have complained about the overcrowding in the comedy club. Answer from Carnival is they want it in a club like intimate setting. Thinks this is just wrong when many of their customers cannot see the show but that is what they say. JaniceB Posted December 10, 2013 #17 Share Posted December 10, 2013 Love the idea of the showroom for the late night comedy. I hate lines. What is intimate about waiting in line 1/2 hour or more before a show to get a seat?
