Size of Spa Balconies on Sunshine deck 11 and 12

We are booked in a regular balcony on deck 6 of Sunshine and are considering upgrading to a spa balcony. The deck plans make it look as though the balconies on spa decks 11 and 12 are larger than a standard balcony or even the rooms on spa deck 10.

Does anyone know for sure?

I also read that spa balcony rooms are 10 sq ft larger than standard balconies - true?

The larger balcony and fridge plus the location would make the upgrade worth it to us if the balcony is larger.

Pictures would be awesome! Thanks!

The spa balcony is definitely larger. We were in room 12006 and on our balcony we had two chairs, a table, and a chaise lounge. This is the first time we have ever had a lounger on a Carnival balcony and we enjoyed it very much. As for the room being 10sf larger--it may be, but if it is I didn't really notice. The room itself "feels" larger because of the newer décor and the full floor to ceiling window to the balcony. The room also has a slider door to the balcony, which helps with not taking up space on the balcony as well.

Thanks :)

Does anyone know if the balconies on deck 10 are larger too or only 11 and 12?

We had a balcony on the Sunshine on deck 10, a spa balcony. It was the same size as a regular balcony pretty much. It had the big floor to ceiling window and the sliding glass door.

There was no cover on this balcony level and you could be seen from the 2 deck balconies above you, as deck jutted out a bit.

The spa is very small, and no thallo pool, there were just a couple of heated loungers, and steam rooms with the spa balcony. Most times they were filled, and we didn't get to use the spa much. Without the thallo pool, it is a bit of a waste if you are paying more specifically to use the spa benefits.

For deck 11 and 12, you have 2 elevators that go up there out of the 8 that are in the elevator bank, only 2 go up past 10, so there was quite a wait as they were regular elevators too. If you wanted to ride all the way up to 11 or 12, you either had to use those 2 elevators, or ride up to 10 in one of the other elevators and they get out and use the stairs or one of the 2 elevators that went up to 11 and 12. If you can walk the one or two flights fine, but if you are depending on the elevator to ride up, you will have a bit of a hard time, as assess to them is often difficult.

We called and the PVP looked it up and confirmed the room is the same size but the balcony is 10 sq ft bigger. So that, along with a fridge and the location (steps away from the waterfall pool on the Serenity Deck), we upgraded for $100!

I really like the idea of floor to ceiling windows and a sliding door to the balcony too.

Ten square feet is nothing to celebrate about. The cabins are about ten feet wide. That means that one extra foot of space is all that is added. That's hardly noticeable.

Thanks, Dick. Given how narrow those balconies are, I think an extra foot in depth will be noticeable but even if it isn't, the low price we started with plus the other benefits (location, floor to ceiling window, fridge, sliding patio door, etc) make it worth it to us.

To each his own. Thanks for your input ;)
