weston gal Posted December 16, 2013 #1 Share Posted December 16, 2013 Our ship docks at 1:00pm, so we need a beach for a short time. We don't want to spend alot of money on admissions, just rent a couple of beach chairs, get some shade, walk the beach and relax. One person in our group wants to snorkel. I've done alot of reading, but I haven't been able to make a decision. Any sugguestion would be apprreciated.
overthehillcruiser Posted December 16, 2013 #2 Share Posted December 16, 2013 (edited) Not a lot of beach at the Money Bar but it fits the bill otherwise for a short trip. No entrance fee , great for snorkeling, reasonable food and drinks and a $9 cab ride up to 4 persons. Also, cleanest restrooms you will find. how to do a screen shot photo hosting image hosting sites image hosting sites 20mb image hosting Edited December 16, 2013 by overthehillcruiser

JohninDC Posted December 16, 2013 #4 Share Posted December 16, 2013 I agree with the above -- the cab fare to most of the other pay-as-you-go beach clubs (Paradise Beach, Mr. Sanchos, etc.) will be closer to $16+tip each way, making it hard to justify for a short visit. Stevesan Posted December 17, 2013 #5 Share Posted December 17, 2013 (edited) The Money Bar is an excellent choice. The snorkeling is good, and the hamburgers are the best on Planet Earth!:D P.S. That location pre Money Bar was known as Dzul Ha. No amenities then, but a popular snorkeling location. http://moneybarbeachclub.com/ Edited December 17, 2013 by Stevesan
weston gal Posted December 17, 2013 Author #6 Share Posted December 17, 2013 Thanks for the pictures of the Money Bar. We may need a beach, possibly with beach toys, that would be good for my 12 year old grandson too. I won't know for sure for a couple of days. Then head to Paradise Beach - nice beach, $2 chair rental, huge pool, nice facilities, water toys, good food/drinks/service. Taxi each way will cost you $16+tip for up to 4 in a cab. Good luck! :)
