I hope someone will ask him about the report that supposedly was made by the Captain of the ship on Quest's November 25 sailing in which he is said to have acknowledged that there were a great many unknowns about the future of Azamara. Apparently the question was whether the line was up for sale.

Indeed thanks Andy.

As that's 7pm UK time I'll be on the tennis court but I do hope someone will ask him what they're doing to improve the off shore experience for those of us in the UK and perhaps he'd like to encourage his new UK MD to do something similar once he's settled in.

Hi Everyone,

I'm working on obtaining a detailed recap of today's chat. If it does not arrive by tomorrow, I will go to "Plan B", and share some random thoughts. Thanks for your patience.

While we'd love to hear your thoughts on the conversation, you probably don't need to jump through any hoops for us! You can easily see it by simply Googling "Larry Pimentel on Twitter" and the entire thread complete with photos comes up. It's a bit cumbersome wading through all the silly chit-chat though. I guess I'm not a fan of Twitter. It's just sound bites to me without a lot of meat. I'd rather hear your opinion, Andy, as it's probably more interesting.

Unless I missed something, the twitter session was pure pabulum- no incite full questions or answers. Worse than a pr add. Why don't we all get in a circle and sing chum-bye-ah?

Where's the like button when you need it!?

Hi Deidre,

That's funny, as I use Google often, but didnt think to Google for a recap ! I've been waiting for a recap link, but didnt realize it was available via a search. It's 2:35 am as I type this, so I will look for it tomorrow.

FWIW, I thought it was a worthwhile hour of my time. What I didnt care for, was the lack of an opportunity for the audience to ask questions to Mr Pimentel. That was a bit of a disappointment, as I had questions prepared. With that said, Mr Pimentel is one of the most active Cruise line CEO's within Social Media, and he's to be commended for his overall efforts & participation.

Wish I could say that I learned a great deal from the questions, but they were very generic, and often related to cruising in general. I had hoped for more information about Azamara... but all in all, the chat session was enjoyable.

If there's anything specific our members would like to know, please feel free to ask. Hope this is helpful. Happy Holidays !

Having quickly looked through the Twitter feed, then it might be very nice of Mr. Pimentel to spend an hour on Twitter but basically there was naff all of any interest said and certainly nothing that would encourage anyone to think that there's a real focus on sorting those niggling off shore problems that everyone complains about.

Maybe Host Andy you could encourage Mr. Pimentel to visit CC for a more "full on" Q&A session.

I hope someone will ask him about the report that supposedly was made by the Captain of the ship on Quest's November 25 sailing in which he is said to have acknowledged that there were a great many unknowns about the future of Azamara. Apparently the question was whether the line was up for sale.

I was on that cruise and sat in on the Q&A you mention. A passenger asked Capt. Jose "What's the future for Azamara?". Jose basically hemmed and hawed and made some remarks that implied that the crew are subsisting on the rumor mill in that area. A powerful rumor circulating amongst staff is that the line will grow but in what manner was unknown: bigger ship, same size, new build, purchased used and refurbished - all on the table. He emphasized that for obvious reasons the staff and crew are keen on this topic since it affects their livelihood but he gave no definitive answer. If he knew anything specific he kept it under wraps as he should.

It was also obvious to me that ACC keeps an eye on internet chatter and this forum as Jose knew what the question implied. On another topic, Ryzgard, the hotel director, at one point cornered me in the Luxe and asked me my opinion on the piano location issue. Like I said, the chatter is being noticed.

And on that topic I think the piano is going to stay where it is. The former location in the Mosaic has been re-purposed to push drink packages and art sales, there was no conflict with the TV on this cruise, and I suggested that things could be improved if the lighting could be dimmed in the piano area - Ryzgard vowed to work on the lighting. And the Mosaic was busy every night, even though there was no entertainment there.

I am afraid it will affect next week's cruise with all the college bowl games being played but going with an open mind. On our Mediterranean cruise we ended each evening in Mosaics listening to Max, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Looking forward to being back on the Quest Saturday.

On one night the TV was tuned to an NFL game but the sound was muted. Max played on, some watched him, some watched the TV. The casino was dead, but the Luxe bar was often busy with people listening to Max or just hanging out. Have a nice cruise!

Definitely the best of both worlds! And for what it's worth, Max began his career, I believe, playing at bars in Boston; he told us that if having a TV going bothered him he would have given up before he even got started. He's terrific!!

Thanks for your other info, flyingshoes, re the Captain's remarks about the future of Azamara.
