scotpom Posted December 17, 2013 #1 Share Posted December 17, 2013 Bill, As a rule are there any shore excursions arranged for BTB passengers twixt cruises. Specifically, we will be on the Journey for two days in Mumbai (April 14/15 2014) There are two shore excursions we are interested in but there are none showing on the website for April 15th. Departure is at 6.00pm so plenty of time. Could you clarify please. Peter
Phxazzcruisers Posted December 17, 2013 #2 Share Posted December 17, 2013 I will let Bill clarify, but we have been on several B2B's on Azamara and there were never any special shore excursions arranged for the B2B passengers.
KazLoudspeaker Posted December 17, 2013 #3 Share Posted December 17, 2013 I have booked a shore excursion on the day that other passengers are leaving/arriving. Quite handy, didn't think I would be able to pick this option, but it was available, so I booked, better than hanging around getting in the way. There is a Panoramic Shanghai excursion that will return to the ship that day for back-to-back passengers as well as one that will drop-off departing passengers at the airport. Also, on Quest's trans-Atlantic last December, on disembarkation day there were all-day Rio excursions that brought passengers either back to the ship or to the airport. BillC Posted December 17, 2013 #7 Share Posted December 17, 2013 We have used the ship's concierge to pit together customized excursions on the day between cruises. They have been reasonably priced and with excellent guides and transportation. In Athens this past September we had 8 people, 4 of whom had not been to the Acropolis before. The concierge arranged for 2 guides so that 4 of us went to the museum, and the other 4 went to the Acropolis. We then all met up for an excellent walking tour and lunch before being dropped off back at the Journey.
capegranny Posted December 17, 2013 #8 Share Posted December 17, 2013 We've done a few B2B and typically there are ship-arranged excursions for departing passengers that end up at the airport, but every once in awhile the ship has been able to arrange to drop continuing passengers back at the port area. More often, however, we've arranged something on our own. In many places we've just done hop-on, hop-off buses after getting a notion of spots we wanted to visit. In Mumbai, we arranged several tours with Mumbai Magic, that were just terrific and I think you will find information about them in several places, including Trip Advisor and also the Destinations section here on CC. Being on-board ship isn't bad! Laundry is less-crowded than it will be once all the new people come on, in warm weather ports, it's a great time to sit on your balcony or out on deck. The gym isn't crowded, etc., etc. We LOVe B2Bs!
