No real advantage except if you are a returning cruiser and your normal Paid in Full date is after your booking window for excursions opens. You will already be paid in full. Disadvantage, DCL gets to use your money during that time, while you could be getting interest in the bank on it.

Haha....with yields so low, I'd be surprised if you were earning any interest!!!

Just think of everything you could buy with that extra 12 cents in interest. :D
Loonbeam Posted December 17, 2013 #5 Share Posted December 17, 2013 There's no upside really and actually a small downside. If the price drops before final payment or there is a deal, you will have to deal with a refund/credit as opposed to just paying a lower amount. moki'smommy Posted December 18, 2013 #6 Share Posted December 18, 2013 Loonbeam has it right--if DCL reduces a cost before the start of the penalty period and you or your TA sees it and contacts DCL, they will give you the new (lower) price. It doesn't happen often, but we've saved $100+ per person at least twice. IF this happens, DCL will have to issue a refund to a guest who is paid in full--this takes time. If you have not paid fully, they just reduce your remaining balance.
