CaribbeanCrush Posted December 21, 2013 #1 Share Posted December 21, 2013 Which has the better view for watching ships leave the port?
Capt_BJ Posted December 21, 2013 #2 Share Posted December 21, 2013 (edited) view is the same .. both on the south side of the channel. Grills is about 100 yards farther east {that is as long as you are at Grills Port Canaveral location and not at the Riverside location on the Indian River about 15 miles south on US-1 !!} Edited December 21, 2013 by Capt_BJ
Baded Posted December 21, 2013 #3 Share Posted December 21, 2013 The best thing about Grills is watching people trying to load their boats on trailers when come back from fishing and a few six packs, lots of fun!
Capt_BJ Posted December 22, 2013 #4 Share Posted December 22, 2013 (edited) The best thing about Grills is watching people trying to load their boats on trailers when come back from fishing and a few six packs, lots of fun! AMEN to that one! (Grills sits right next to the public boat ramps in the port - the ones going away when they begin building the new cruise terminal . . . .) Used to sit for hours after diving out of Pennekamp in Key Largo and watch the antics there . . . Have watched more than one vehicle get backed a lil too far and slide off the end of the ramp .... Launching is just as good .... it is amazing how many people while in a hurry to shoot the boat off the trailer, forget that having someone holding on to a line to the boat is a BIG help! SteelerCruiser Posted December 22, 2013 #5 Share Posted December 22, 2013 we did the Fishlips thing in November and were not overly impressed with the food. Granted we are not seafood eaters but still. As for the view it was pretty cool watching a cruise depart while eating dinner.

Thom524 Posted December 23, 2013 #7 Share Posted December 23, 2013 Last January we ate at Rustys and the food and service were very good. The weather was wonderful as we dined on the outdoor deck and watched a Royal ship depart.
