Currency - Canadian v. US

Recommended Posts

We will arrive in Vancouver on Thursday around noon, and board our ship on Saturday. Plan on doing the trolley, Grouse Mountain, and of course some fine dining (at least Thursday & Friday night.)

So the question becomes, how much Canadian cash will be needed.

Starting with the taxi from the airport to the Metropolitan Hotel. Will they take US dollars – and the same question applies to the trolley & Grouse Mountain? And whatever restaurant we happen to pop into for lunch along the way.

We can always charge our dinners, and of course out hotel room, but otherwise, are US$ readily accepted, or are there some venues where Canadian currency is the way to go?

Thanks, :)

Terry

anyplace-sometimes you will not get a great exchange. Our dollar is about 83 cents to yours. There are plenty of banks and money exchanges around.I would get a couple of hundred dollars if you intend to pay for everything in cash.
