ahecht Posted December 28, 2013 #26 Share Posted December 28, 2013 As the passport in this case is only being used to confirm identity, there's a chance it will be accepted as proof of ID even though it's expired. I certainly wouldn't count on that though. As for school ID's, gym cards, library cards, etc..... they aren't official government-issued ID's so I wouldn't count on that working either. When I was 16 (before 9-11) I got into the Pentagon using only a school ID, but I doubt that would work now.
LovesCruising Posted December 28, 2013 #27 Share Posted December 28, 2013 The expired passport has a picture and is government issued - so that may work along with the certified birth certificate. Wish OP would come back
jackietex Posted December 29, 2013 Author #28 Share Posted December 29, 2013 UPDATE. We did not go to Dallas because I looked at the government requirements, which did not say the id had to be laminated. We got him a TX id card, which is temporary (paper) but still has a photo and is signed by a government rep. (Employee). We are all on, no problems at all.
