kdinkus1 Posted January 3, 2014 #1 Share Posted January 3, 2014 I will be in a 'french-door' room on the carnival miracle in 9days. Has anyone else booked this type of cabin? If so, what is it like? I am traveling with my son and family, and this is the cabin they chose. Thanks!
urbanhawk Posted January 3, 2014 #2 Share Posted January 3, 2014 I had one of these cabins on the Miracle a few years back-they're great- obstructed window view at inside cabin rates! Some cabin views are better than others-try to choose one between the lifeboats. The french door can be opened for fresh air, but you can't go outside-there is a small walk way for the maintaince workers. Happy cruising!
crusinpsychRN Posted January 3, 2014 #3 Share Posted January 3, 2014 Nice cabin, if you get between the lifeboats you can see the water. Be careful to keep curtains closed as maintenance happens out there at very odd hours.
can't hardly wait Posted January 3, 2014 #4 Share Posted January 3, 2014 I will be in a 'french-door' room on the carnival miracle in 9days. Has anyone else booked this type of cabin? If so, what is it like? I am traveling with my son and family, and this is the cabin they chose. Thanks! I had cabin 4114 on Miracle in July. It is like having a large window that opens since you can't go outside. Nice to be able to check the outside temp for dressing on a cruise to Alaska. I've only ever had interiors on previous cruises and was concerned it wouldn't be dark enough in the cabin for sleeping (it was). Liked that the price was the same as a true interior. It was a great location mid-ship. I chose a cabin between lifeboats and while it was still obstructed I had nice views of whales and icebergs on the rare times I was in my cabin. I'd definitely book this type of cabin again. Hope you enjoy your cruise!

If so, what is it like? I am traveling with my son and family, and this is the cabin they chose. Thanks! Check out these other threads for information on the 4K 'french-door' style cabins. Note that cabins on the Miracle, Pride, Legend and Spirit are all the same class of ship, and the layout will be the same; http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1577614 http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1512709 http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1241382&highlight=4140 We have had cabin 4140 on the Miracle twice before, and have it booked again for our upcoming Hawaiian cruise. We feel that this is the best value for your $ when booking an inside category. During our Panama cruise, we even slept with the doors open one night just to enjoy the sound of the ocean :). Have a fantastic cruise..only 98 more sleeps for me :D
paulypride Posted January 3, 2014 #6 Share Posted January 3, 2014 We had this last year on the Miracle, Cabin 4141 - I loved it. I would book this cabin every time if I could, in fact we are looking at the Pride because of this in the late spring. The two pics I attached you can see how there is a bar across the outside, so you cannot step out and the other is the view from the cabin outside. so if 4141 is available, take it! SkyMaster Posted January 3, 2014 #8 Share Posted January 3, 2014 Best bargain on any Carnival ship IMO. You're gonna love your cabin! "SKY"
jerseytomato Posted January 5, 2014 #9 Share Posted January 5, 2014 I've had this type of room twice and think it's a great value. Like everyone else said the view depends on if you're in between the life boats or not, and you need to be careful when changing since workers can be outside at all hours. I would absolutely book one of these rooms again.
