The Yacht club is supposed to be excluded in the fine print, and port fees taxes cannot be waived but,

The key info:

*Children 11 and under sail free when sailing as 3rd / 4th guests in the same stateroom as two full-fare paying guests based on Early Booking Rates excluding MSC Yacht Club. Amenities vary by ship. Not all amenities available on every ship. Government fees and taxes for all guests is additional and varies by itinerary (some restrictions may apply).

Here is a mock booking for Christmas 2014 for an inside: $50 may be minimum but its not free.

Number of Guests: 2 Adults 2 Children

Well the new year one did not paste well but you can still see that its still $50 per child. All were mock booked 2 adults and 2 kids under 11 on divina.

Still great prices and I am not knocking MSC at all but "some restrictions apply" seems to apply to kids sail free on some sailings.

One more over TG 2014 this is a YC booking YC1: Kids at $350 each over a holiday.

Number of Guests: 2 Adults 2 Children

1° guest

First Guest Fare $274.44

2° guest

Cruise rate $1,925.00

Second Guest Fare $274.44

3° guest

Cruise rate $350.00

Third Guest Fare $274.44

My kid sail free on this XMas but ,God ,please make them charge kids for next Xmas! I hope its not going to be like this year with 1000 kids on board.

I get that but no where in the fine print does it say except holiday sailings. I have also found kids cruise fares on some non holiday periods.

The ad kids sail free....Always! But $50 is not free! And it seems clear the yc is not free and perhaps it shouldn't be.

Advertising literary license I suppose. Sort of if you like your current insurance you can keep it.

We have booked the 14 night cruise and our daughter who will be 14 when we travel we originally booked a balcony cabin and were being charged 120 pound but we have changed to the Yacht Club and are being charged 225 pounds. They said the charges are port fees and taxes don't mind paying this for her as on the other cruises we have been on we have paid a lot more for her.

Also some UK bookings seem to suggest that kids sail free in the yc as well but US bookings for the same trip pay much more.

Such inequity despite different countries = diffirent rules this is however a MSC choice what they charge for 3rd and 4th passengers.

It seems like UK kids get a better deal than US kids. Perhaps the UK kids help fill the boat as the US crusing public has not at all embraced MSC fully. If they find out they are paying more for their kids as a general rule of thumb this wont endear them to the US market.
