ShrinkinTexas Posted July 16, 2005 #1 Share Posted July 16, 2005 Thanks to Emily, my friends iten. has changed and they are now going to Nassau. I have checked several places for the Atlantis (to have day access) but everywhere (hotels.com, etc.) is saying that the Comfort Suites is sold out. Atlantis wants $299 plus tax for the day for 3 people!!!!!!!!!!!! Any other ideas of where to look or what they can do in Nassau to make the most out of the day? Is there a "swim with the stingrays" tour? Is it anything like Grand Cayman (many rays and not too scared of people)?
mommabean Posted July 16, 2005 #2 Share Posted July 16, 2005 Just keep checking the smarter living site for the comfort inn. Daily....as often as you can. It may open up again. My husband had an idea for me if I hadn't found out about the comfort suites. He said I should just get off the ship and take a horse and buggy ride and then get back on the ship and have the facilities to ourselves. I don't think there are chair hogs by the pool on port days. There will be no long lines at the windjammer either. But if you really want to do atlantis, keep checking. Things do change often as far as availability in the hotel business. With people having up until 48 hours to cancel at the comfort suites, they may get an opening at any time.
JerseyGirl23 Posted July 17, 2005 #3 Share Posted July 17, 2005 I read here a couple of months ago someone suggested reserving a room the night before and then checking in technically the day you check out. I'd call the Comfort Suites and see if that is acceptable.
BearySweet2Cruise Posted July 19, 2005 #4 Share Posted July 19, 2005 I booked atlantis through travelocity.com (We are going in OCt) We got a rate of 145.00 ..at Atlantis resort, not comfort suites. cannot tell you if they have rooms there or even for that price, but I can imagine it being harder to get "a room" due to those who already booked and adding the fact of all the diverted ships on top of it.. good luck to you. onmyway Posted October 5, 2005 #5 Share Posted October 5, 2005 Do you have to get a room to enjoy Atlantis. I have checked online at Carnival and don't see any day excursions to Atlantis. How much is it for a day pass without a hotel room or isn't that possible. We are 2 45 to 50 year old women going on our first cruise (both divorced) and we're trying to figure out what we want to do for day excursions. Is this something that we would enjoy??? You can view the DIGs aquarium for $29pp, but it doesn't give you access to the pools/slides/beach or property. You can use the casino, shoppes, lobbies and Marina Village without being a guest. There are securiyt guards throughout the property to keep outsiders from using the property.
