Mexican pesos

I have some old Mexican pesos that I tried a while back to exchange in for Canadian currency. Unfortunately my bank wouldn't do it and said the only place I could do it was Mexico.

 

Any banks close to the port that would exchange it for me without being a customer? Anyone ever do this before?

there are several money exchanges (cambios) and banks around the plaza and along the main road Rafael Melgar that runs along the west side of downtown and past the piers. These aren't the best places to get pesos (ATMs are better, you'll get around 13 pesos for a US$1) But on the reverse you might get a US$1 for 10 pesos out of them. Probably similar to a hotel or restaurant. If you have fewer than 100, just spend them in Mexico.

I honestly never thought of just spending them!
