gtaylor Posted January 11, 2014 #2 Share Posted January 11, 2014 We have recommendations, depending on what you might be looking for. Burgers on the Beach? Lobster and French Wine? Escargot? Thai? gary
ATC cruiser Posted January 11, 2014 Author #3 Share Posted January 11, 2014 Grilled lobster or other seafood, good burgers also. Doesn't necessarily have to be on the beach
cjackso8 Posted January 12, 2014 #4 Share Posted January 12, 2014 I would recommend the greenhouse. It's a short walk from the pier and it has everything you've mentioned. the food is great. DH and I ate there a few times on our last week long trip. http://www.thegreenhouserestaurant.com/
Karysa Posted January 12, 2014 #5 Share Posted January 12, 2014 The Ocean Lounge at the Holland House hotel would be my suggestion to you. Great food, beautiful sea view, cool vibe and free wifi for customers. You can enter from Front Street or from the boardwalk.
gtaylor Posted January 15, 2014 #6 Share Posted January 15, 2014 I, also, would recommend the Ocean Lounge at Holland House as a very up-scale choice. View the video tour here. For just a burger, I would recommend Bigwood Cafe, on the Boardwalk. (click) If you don't need a beach view, then Kangaroo Court is a great choice. For my Lobster, I would say Antoine by the Sea, also on the Boardwalk, but on the far end. Their $18 reserve chardonnay is quite nice. gary
ATC cruiser Posted January 15, 2014 Author #7 Share Posted January 15, 2014 I'm going to have on a bathing suit (not a speedo) and tee shirt, my wife and daughter will have on cover ups, is that acceptable at the more upscale restaurants. We normally just spend a day at the beach, rent lounge chairs and an umbrella, but we don't want to eat in the sand again, we'd rather have a sit down meal. That lobster from Antoine's looks amazing. At the Ocean Lounge and Antoine's I would recommend a dress not see through cover-up over top of a bathing suit. Perhaps if you sat by the beach and not up in the restaurant at the Ocean Lounge they may feel comfortable in beach attire. A dry shorts style bathing suit and a Tee- shirt is fine at either place for lunch IMO anyway. I prefer the Ocean Lounge and they do get many working people from Philipsburg as well for lunch so if you can make reservations ahead of time that would be a good idea.
