syr101 Posted January 13, 2014 #1 Share Posted January 13, 2014 From the east coast how long is the flight to Hawaii. Also were sailing on a Monday and want to fly into Hawaii on Saturday. We would like to rent a car for Saturday, Sunday, board the ship and still have the car on Monday. Would there be a place to park the rental near the ship so we can get on board, drop off luggage and go back to the car.

Check the following site flight times and schedules . http://matrix.itasoftware.com/ Then you can decide what works the best . Off hand your probably looking traveling for 18 hrs . packyourpixiedust Posted January 14, 2014 #3 Share Posted January 14, 2014 However long it is to LA from your city. From Detroit it's 4.5-5 hours. Then it's another 5.5 hours-ish. At least those are the published times, here may be wind and such that make it take less time. Most connections that we've experienced are only like 45 min in LA. So, not a long wait there... Rare 4cats4me Posted January 14, 2014 #4 Share Posted January 14, 2014 I can state with certainty that the flight from San Francisco is 5 hours, and our friends flew from Dallas to Honolulu recently and it was 8.5 hours, so from the east coast I would tack on an additional 2.5 to 3 hours. kapoho2 Posted January 14, 2014 #5 Share Posted January 14, 2014 Hawaiian Airlines has a non-stop from JFK to Honolulu. Scheduled time is approximately 11 hours or so. We recently took this flight and our actual flight time was a little less. It is a very nice flight and the time goes by quite quickly. They feed you twice and do several beverage services. The flight leaves JFK at 10am and arrives HNL mid afternoon.

kapoho2 Posted January 14, 2014 #7 Share Posted January 14, 2014 Thanks cruiser2015 for the actual scheduled time. If you haven't done this flight before, you will enjoy it. Hawaiian uses a beautiful brand new plane and the onboard service is outstanding. I was an international flight attendant for many, many years....and I know what it takes!!!
