Which port for gem stones

Not sure. but...make sure and price what ever you would be interested in before you leave on your cruise. That way you'll know what would be a reasonable price and better be able to bargain.

Also, on both the Princess and RCCL cruises I've been on there have been loose stones on sale at the jewelry store on ship. There's been 1 or 2 nights that they put them out and put them on special. Don't know how the prices compare because I don't know what a good price for that is, but people were all over them.

Of those ports I have heard good things about the new port in Costa Maya for prices...but generally stones are better eastern and southern Caribbean in my opinion. They do have very good quality on the ship as well and it is often comparable or cheaper than port prices. Grand Cayman used to be great, and especially for some very different or high fashion jewelry...black coral and others, but it has gotten very pricey in the past few years so be careful and stick to reputable stores.
