Smart Casual Night????

Ours docs said same, but there wasn't a smart casual on our sailing. Just 2 formal nights and the rest were casual or could wear "theme" for the night (western, caribbean, 50-70s....), but other lines are probably different. We brought nice dresses for females, and sport coats for men in our family for smart casual.

"Smart casual" would be your very best casual or non-formal clothes. For a man, that would mean well-pressed slacks and a good polo shirt or tropical print, with or without a sports jacket. Semi-formal would require a suit, dress shirt and tie. Casual would be Dockers (or equivalent) slacks and shirt, but no jeans or T-shirts.

We just returned from a 9 night cruise, and we had 2 smart casual nights. Looking around the dining room, you couldn't really tell the difference between these nights and the casual nights. Bottom line--as long as you are appropriately dressed for the dining room, no one will say anything. I was much more interested in the food than in what my fellow cruisers were wearing!!
