Sun Midship Inside

We are taking a cruise on the Sun, and we usually book inside staterooms to save our money for excursions. Our choices on the Sun are level 4 below the dining room, or level 8 above the casino. We are worried both about noise and the smells drifting from those areas. Would you recommend one over the other?

We had friends who booked 8331 and didn't hear a thing from the Casino below. We've booked 9331 for the Alaska cruise in 2015 because of the layout we seen in 8331.

These are mid-ship insides, but are also Sideways and on the Sun these cabins are HUGE. We had an inside on the Spirit and Jade last summer and they didn't even come close to the extra room on the Sun.

Can't say anything about deck 4, but anytime we get a chance to cruise on the Sun it will be 8330-31 or 9330-31 every time ( or a balcony lol).

Note: these cabins are a bit more than say deck 4, so keep that in mind regarding your budget, but I think it's worth it. Enjoy your cruise no matter what deck you decide on !!!

cheers...the Ump...:D

We just got off the Sun last week, we had cabins 4314,4313 (inside) and 3 cabins oceanview on deck 4. The 2 inside cabins were bigger then our oceanview cabins. We were right under Seven Seas and we didnt smell or hear anything. Close to elevator and stairs which is also nice.

I too was hoping to find info here. I will be in 6308 in Sept. 2014, on 6A the Oslo deck. From the deck plans of deck 6 proper, there are cabins near the bow, with stairways indicated right by them in both the port and starboard passageways. So I thought that perhaps those stairs lead to the Oslo deck and that it was situated just above those cabins on deck 6. But I have not been able to get a definitive answer anywhere. Can someone please give us an accurate answer about this?

You are correct about deck 6a. They surround the theatre so basically Oslo is a mezzanine between deck 6 and 7. Friends who were there on our round the horn trip loved how quiet and un trafficked ( is that a word?) it was. Only folks whose rooms are on that deck have reason to go there. Only issue is that there isn't elevator access so if you have mobility problems....

No mobility problems, and the few extra steps will be a slight help with counteracting all the eating and drinking.

So are the rooms on 6A basically just above the rooms that are on 6 proper?
