Copenhagen Hotels

Going to Copenhagen in June (2014). Does anyone know what hotels Norweigan uses for pre-cruise. Thanks in advance.

Crowne Plaza and Copenhagen Marriott. Here are the descriptions and rates from NCL's site. http://www.ncl.com/cruise-destination/europe/hotel#tab_detail

We stayed at the Marriott last September. The hotel is nice and we liked our room. It isn't right in the city center but is in walking distance to all the key sights. It also had a fitness center and a restaurant. The breakfast included with NCL's package was quite good (not a continental breakfast).

We stayed at the Copenhagen Marriott precruise, but we booked our room through Priceline and got an awesome deal. It is within walking distance of Tivoli and all the sights.

Post cruise we stayed at The Square which is right across the street from City Hall, Tivoli & very close to the pedestrian shopping street. Again we booked this on our own.

We were happy with both.

These are the two offered through NCL. And while you can easily find other very good hotels in Copenhagen for comparable or better prices, it is nice to have the transfer to the pier included in the price (Danish taxis are expensive).

I have stayed at the Marriott on previous trips. When we were there last September (for the same cruise) we stayed at the Crown Plaza. It prides itself on being one of Europe's "greenest" hotels and that added a neat aspect to the stay. It also has a great restaurant, bar, fitness center, and includes a delicious non-continental breakfast.

Both hotels are great places to stay. :D

The only real difference between the two, I think, is price and location. The Crown Plaza is located nearer the airport (and has a free shuttle) so to get to downtown Copenhagen's attractions you have to use public transportation (or the expensive cab, of course). The public transportation is very efficient, 2 minutes walk from the hotel, takes about 10 minutes, and costs about $5. But in exchange for not being able to walk to town you save about a $90 per couple per night.
