Sailaway Parties

This came up on another thread and I was interested in seeing what other cruisers experienced. What ship? Did you have a sailaway party? What time did your ship sail? Where did it sail from?

 

I'll start with my 3...

 

Dawn Princess - Southern Caribbean from San Juan 11 pm in April 2004 - We had a huge sailaway evening - there was music and everyone was on deck dancing, drinks in hand, talking about the cruise.

 

Caribbean Princess - Eastern Caribbean from Fort Lauderdale 5 pm in August 2004 - there was music at the pool in the middle of the ship and it seemed like everyone was out and about even if it was not an official party.

 

Diamond Princess - Mexican Riviera from San Pedro 5 pm in January 2005 - only a handful of people on deck as it was a little cold and windy - some die hards like myself running around looking for a party - we wound up in the bar in the atrium by ourselves and just hung out with the waiters.

Funny...I thought there were sailaway parties on all ships. Often we elect to not go, but I'm sure they were advertised in the Patter.
