Well, it's worth being aware that dressing to the theme on these nights is entirely optional. All that you are actually required to do is to conform to the prevailing dress code on the night in question. Personally I seem to see fewer and fewer people who actually don "fancy dress" for these balls.

 

However, assuming that you do wish to dress appropriately, there are others who are much better qualified than I am to advise you.

Just follow the dresscode for the eve.(most likely formal for the ball)I'd suggest buying a mask near your home(for the Masqerade). The ones Cunard supplies are pretty lame & pretty pricey. For Victoriana..just follow the night's dresscode is fine. You really don't need anything for any of the "balls" The Bucanner Ball(on QV 2012) really had some wild pirate outfits. One guy even had a "stuffed" parrot on his shoulder. Probably got it from Monty Python!

There's a part in the afternoon where you can make a mask for masquerade ball. Buccaneers, white shirt, baggy black trousers, black boots, waistcoat. Make a swords and pirate hat out of newspaper...sorted :-)
