ashmac8 Posted January 21, 2014 #1 Share Posted January 21, 2014 Had planned to do the Coral Breeze tour with some snorkeling and some going straight to Caye Caulker. Reviews on Trip Advisor look good but getting less than stellar feedback here with a sub par crew and small boat. Looking for some sort of beach or snorkel or both. Not interested in ruins or a big island tour this time. We'd be game for something adventurous like ATVs or horseback riding if highly recommended. Will have 3 adults and 1 child (age 7). Any thoughts?
blue_water Posted January 21, 2014 #2 Share Posted January 21, 2014 Rendezvous or Goff's Caye directly from the ship, or Water Caye perhaps.
ashmac8 Posted January 21, 2014 Author #3 Share Posted January 21, 2014 Rendezvous or Goff's Caye directly from the ship, or Water Caye perhaps. Will investigate. These thru the ship or private?
blue_water Posted January 21, 2014 #4 Share Posted January 21, 2014 Through the ship but they pick you up and drop you at the ship, no waiting in line and no tender to port unless you do that after (which you have time to do). Can't beat that for Belize. We liked Goff's, haven't tried the other 2 but they sound great.
Will in sunny FL Posted January 21, 2014 #5 Share Posted January 21, 2014 I'd suggest that you look into Goff's Caye snorkeling or the reef snorkel & Caye Caulker thru Eco Tours or thru Island marketing. Their sites will explain the goodies for their trip. Enjoy Belize. Bill in FL
blue_water Posted January 21, 2014 #6 Share Posted January 21, 2014 Goff's Caye was a great easy day with the direct pick-up from the ship, gorgeous little Caye and good snorkeling right off the beach. The boats they transport you in are more like lifeboats as you are inside, but the crew we had was excellent, not sure what outfit does the ship excursion. We had time to shower and tender into port for a bit after. We were going to do the Rendezvous Caye when there in 2 weeks but decided to water taxi to Caye Caulker instead. Good luck! wantocruisemore Posted January 21, 2014 #7 Share Posted January 21, 2014 There's eco tours and also sea sports Belize that have snorkeling. They are our back up plan if something happens with Ivar.
Will in sunny FL Posted January 21, 2014 #8 Share Posted January 21, 2014 (edited) Eco tours & also Island Marketing used to offer, & possibly still do, FREE rum punch with the Goffs snorkel tour. Not a bad fringe benny ! Edited January 21, 2014 by Will in sunny FL
blue_water Posted January 21, 2014 #9 Share Posted January 21, 2014 Whoever does the Goff's Caye excursion through the ship does an excellent job and that includes a great lunch and plenty of rum punch. And the pick-up at the ship means no waiting in line for a tender into port and that's a huge perk for us, especially on days with many ships. ashmac8 Posted January 21, 2014 Author #10 Share Posted January 21, 2014 great insight Guys. Hope today for a snow day..... Spending a little time trying to decide. They all look fun. We are pretty laid back so a decent beach and sun should do the trick.
