Century Plaza or Westin Bayshore?

Sailing island Princess in Aug. Looking for input pluses/ minus's between the two. Bayshore we can get Princess transfers, but it's almost double the price that we can get at the Century. Believe I've read taxi from airport would be $35-40. Know other options available, but with luggage for 14 days, expect would use taxi. Would like the access to Stanley Park, but Century seems to be close to more restaurants. Thoughts please and/or other hotel suggestions.

We stayed in the Westin Bayshore and loved it, but don't know anything about the Century Plaza. We took a cab from the airport - think it was around $40-$45. A cab to the pier was less than $10. We used Starwood points (can't beat free!) for the room and upgraded to a sensational tower room with a view of the harbor and constant marine activity, plus a view of the mountains and sunsets. There are several restaurants within walking distance from the Bayshore, plus we were very pleasantly surprised by the quality and ambiance of their bar & grill just off the lobby. Ended up eating dinner there twice and greatly enjoyed it. The negative was the hotel breakfast - very overpriced. We walked about 2 blocks and has great breakfasts for reasonable prices at a White Spot restaurant. There's also a 'Hop On, Hop Off' bus stop right at the hotel - made for a great day's sightseeing trip.

Why limit yourself to these two? The rooms at the Century Plaza are dowdy and outdated.

 

The Bayshore is a terrific hotel, slightly away from the downtown core. Take a taxi from the airport to either-same price. There are lots of other choices with better rooms than the CP and closer to the centre than the Bayshore.
