We are life-long RCL cruisers, but we have decided there may be a time when we want to try something new. DH and I are 32 and 25. We only like the newest biggest ships. We enjoy drinking and dancing until 3:00AM or later. Does this happen on NCL ships? We like to party but nothing crazy like college spring break party lol Anything I should know about NCL?

Our first (and only) NCL cruise was just on the Breakaway out of NY. It was great. We had an awesome time and will defiantly go on NCL again. We have been on the Oasis and Allure, so we are the same way. Love the mega ships. :):):)

I am up often past midnight, but in the casino. Sometimes I stagger around the ship and not have seen parties that late. Maybe they are there and I have not seen them, but....

Then again, we take longer cruises often which has an older crowd. I would surely not picking anything longer than 7 days in your case.

On the Epic, Breakaway and Getaway, which I assume you are considering, the late night parties are in Bliss. Some people say that Bliss is a big small on the Breakaway and Getaway. It isn't my thing, but the people I was with on the Breakaway tended to head there at about midnight. Not sure how late it goes on though.

You can get a drink at o'Sheehans until late. It is officially always open. The latest I've ever been there is about 1-2 am. Whilst not busy there were quite a few people there.

Unlike RCCI, on NCL you may buy a bottle of spirits to have in your stateroom. Either pre-cruise (pay $3/bottle, get 3 mixers/3 garnishes) or during the cruise (different list, pay 15% gratuity, get 6 mixers/no garnishes).

There is also an Ultimate Beverage Package on NCL, not sure about Royal on that one. You may be in the minority who actually come out ahead with the UBP.
