Rare Lilycat2010 Posted January 30, 2014 #1 Share Posted January 30, 2014 Hello! Looking forward to my cruise out of Port Everglades coming up in 3 weeks. Our last cruising experience happened right in the middle of last year's government sequestration event. We were significantly delayed boarded and for debarkation. Wondering what recent experiences have been like? Trying to mentally prepare if we are to face long delays again! Thanks!
ricktwo Posted January 30, 2014 #2 Share Posted January 30, 2014 Hello! Thanks! The later you come on embarkation days, the quicker the line moves. As far as debarkation, it seems times are "back to normal" except for Liberty of the Seas, which always seems to take a little longer than most of the other ships. jennmaybe Posted January 30, 2014 #4 Share Posted January 30, 2014 We sailed out of Port Everglades last month and there were HUGE delays. They only had 2 Customs agents working on debarkation day. We had a 12:30 flight, so we walked off with our own luggage. We arrived to the MDR on time and they moved the line for 5 minutes and then it stopped. We didn't move for 30 minutes. It was a nightmare! Once we got into the terminal, it was another 35 minutes before we got to Customs. It was 1 1/2 hrs from the time we entered the MDR & the time we walked outside to grab a taxi. Ashland Posted January 31, 2014 #5 Share Posted January 31, 2014 No one can say for sure..but we have had the least amount of delays when cruising out/in from Port Everglades the many times we have...with the most recent one being this past Oct.
