MSC posts show Grats included as a daily charge. It this the same amount for YC, or is YC higher (like most other cruise line Suites)?

As a P.S. question what have been your customary additional tips to Butler etc. on the 7 day Divina?

Thanks Ken S

If the service deserves it why not.

From the MSC website:

HOTEL SERVICE CHARGE

During your cruise, you will meet staff throughout the ship who provide you

with excellent service. They are supported by just as many staff and crew who work hard behind the scenes to ensure you enjoy every moment onboard. For your convenience MSC Cruises will automatically add a daily Hotel Service Charge to your shipboard account, based on your chosen itinerary and the number of days for which the services are actually provided. The Hotel Service charge serves to ensure we maintain the highest quality standards of service to our guests. The daily amounts below have been calculated with this in mind and cannot be modified. However, should you wish to remove any of the daily Hotel Service Charge in the unlikely event that you do not receive satisfactory service, you may do so by contacting the Guest Relations Manager on board.

If you wish, the daily Service Charge for your cruise can be added to the price of your cruise at the time of booking, rather than added to your onboard account during the cruise. Please let your booking agent know if you would like to add the Service Charge to your cruise price.

I'm pretty sure MSC specifically states that guests should not tip

Yes they do say no tips. That said I've never known any of them to refuse a cash tip over and above the hotel service charge. I suspect that more tipping will occur with YC butlers, especially where a passenger has them doing a lot of errNds for them.

If our waiters and cabin stewards are good and go beyond the normal, we'll give them an extra 20 EUR. We never got any complaints and did not have the impression this was unusual. In fact, we saw other people do the same. On the last day, we'll typically say good bye, shake thair hand, thank them for their great service and give them the tip.

As Amo said, in the yacht club, I would think you can give higher amounts.

We did not tip extra for normal service, but some were so good that we felt they deserved it. If you don't want to tip extra, that's completely fine as well.

We had stewards that had our room ready when we returned from breakfast and set up for the night when we returned from dinner, so we tipped extra, others did it at their normal pace so we felt the normal charge was ok.

Also, we did not have to pay the charge for the kids, so gave a little extra to compensate.
