Financial note .. travelers checks

saw this 'advisory' from a place I frequent in Cayman:

Due to recent changes in the laws (the new US Patriot Act and the Bank Secrecy Act), Travelers Cheques and Money Orders in US Dollars will not be accepted at Sunset House. The reasoning behind this is since Money Orders and Travelers Cheques can be purchased for cash with no identification required, there has been increasing use of these instruments in fraudulent financial transactions and our bank will no longer accept them.

Cayman signed an agreement with the US last NOV to "fight offshore tax evasion and encourage financial transparency."

just an FYI if you still use Trav' Checks.
