absolutely brilliant Posted January 31, 2014 #1 Share Posted January 31, 2014 Yesterday our local Philly action news Tv station reported that the Dream would be cruising from Baltimore in 2015 as well as news of the Pride returning to Baltimore. Has anyone else heard about this. Nothing on Carnival or Cruise News about the Dream.
DaveRRT Posted January 31, 2014 #2 Share Posted January 31, 2014 dont think Dream will make it under the Key Bridge so may be a real short cruise.

spencercoop Posted January 31, 2014 #4 Share Posted January 31, 2014 dont think Dream will make it under the Key Bridge so may be a real short cruise. You are correct. The Pride is the largest Carnival ship that can sail out of Baltimore.
christmas Posted January 31, 2014 #5 Share Posted January 31, 2014 The Dream can't fit under the Bridge. Only Fantasy class and Spirit class can fit under the bridge.
joepeka Posted January 31, 2014 #6 Share Posted January 31, 2014 (edited) Seatrade Insider has a story about the Pride moving to Baltimore full time in 2015: http://www.seatrade-insider.com/news/news-headlines/carnival-to-resume-year-round-service-from-baltimore.html This will be after the ship is refurb'd to include the Funship 2.0 upgrades and scrubbers to meet environmental requirements. As far as Dream? As mentioned above, that's a bridge clearance issue. Edited January 31, 2014 by joepeka

DaveRRT Posted February 1, 2014 #9 Share Posted February 1, 2014 (edited) maybe they could tip the ship 20 degrees or so by moving passengers and all the booze they find during check in they may make it Edited February 1, 2014 by DaveRRT

golfadj Posted February 1, 2014 #11 Share Posted February 1, 2014 Have heard they will dredge the area by the bridge to lower the water level.
Want2Cruise 701 Posted February 1, 2014 #12 Share Posted February 1, 2014 The Dream is moving to New Orleans, not Baltimore. Yes. New Orleans will be Dreams new home port after its repositioning cruise April 5. That will be its last sailing from Port Canaveral.
absolutely brilliant Posted February 1, 2014 Author #13 Share Posted February 1, 2014 Wouldn't be the first time a news outlet was wrong ;) Sent from my SGH-I747M using Forums mobile app The teaser for the report started by stating Carnival making it more convenient to cruise with the Dream & the Pride cruising locally. I thought they were gonna say the Dream would be sailing from New York instead of the Splendor but I thought that they announced that the Splendor would be returning to New York seasonally in 2015. After commercial break they stated most likely incorrecttly the Dream from Baltimore as well as the Pride. I don't think they would sail both ships from Baltimore.
