We shall be visiting St Thomas in March on the Allure, arriving at Charlotte Amelie at 10am & leaving at 7pm.

We are a family of 2 mid 40s, 2 early 70s and 1 10 year old.

We have never been to St Thomas and want to do something interesting with that is not ALL about snorkelling.

My parents are not water people & will have no desire to swim or snorkel & perhaps other than having a paddle in the sea, water activities will not be high on their list. That said, they both have said they would do a boat tour as long as they weren't expected to swim off the boat.

Does anyone have any experience of any tours that perhaps involved a tour of the island on land & then a boat tour where my husband & son could get off & swim, but wouldn't be too long for parents to be "stuck" on the boat.

Any suggestions would be welcomed.

Your family might like the Kon Tiki boat excursion, because they pull right up to the beach and provide a ladder for getting off in the sand. Once there, if you have your own snorkel mask, you can swim along the rocks looking for fish. I saw quite a few just looking down into the water from the boat. A crew member named several fish that you're likely to see in the water. I posted details in a TripAdvisor review I did a while back, but they don't have the same mc now. He was really good.
