Hotel in Fairbanks

We are coming to town a day early before our Princess land tour starts. Right now we have a room booked at the Princess Riverside Lodge but I was looking around and found two there hotels that are way cheaper.

Is it worth the almost $300 to stay at Princess Riverside Lodge or should we stay that first night at either the Best Western Plus Pioneer Lodge or the Best Western Chena River Lodge?

We arrive after a 15 hour day of flying across the country around 4pm. Also we are looking at renting a car for a a day so we can do some sight seeing the next day and hitting a grocery store.

Thanks in advance for the recommendations!

The Best Western Pioneer Inn is the old Comfort Inn, and is positioned in an odd location.

The Best Western Chena River Lodge was built less than five years ago, and would be much easier for you to find after fifteen hours of flying. The car rental agency will provide directions, the the BW Chena River is about a five minute drive from the airport, and you will see it on your left from Airport Way. This hotel is also located very close to the Princess Lodge, is within easy walking distance to my favorite Fairbanks restaurant (Chena's Bar and Grill), and is "catty-corner" from a Fred Meyer (think "Krogers") which makes it convenient for groceries.

Thank you for the response.
