Tampa hotel with view of port and cruise ships

We are spoiled by sailing out of Miami and Ft. Lauderdale, where we always get port-view hotel rooms. We care more about a spectacular view of the port and the ships than free shuttles, which we don't need.

 

Are there any hotels in the Tampa area that have a view of the cruise port?

I believe the Marriott Waterside has water views and you may see ships coming into port but not when ships are at the pier.

Maybe Embassy Suites downtown/convention center. It's right next to the port.

I'm not aware of any hotels adjacent to Channelside which is where the port is.

The Tampa Marriott and Embassy Suites Downtown are 2 city blocks away.

 

That's as close as any hotel is going to get for the Port of Tampa.

Here is a list of some of the Downtown Tampa hotels. I'm not sure of any that offer the shuttle but perhaps another poster may help out there. The Hampton Ybor may have one,

just call or check the web-sites to be positive.

 

The downtown hotels are very close to the port so a taxi would just be a few $.
