"Gem" verus the "Getaway"

okay, I LOVE the new ship smell and all a new fancy ship has to offer. However, the 11-day itinerary on the Gem is great - Tortola and St. Kitts PLUS you don't have to go to Nassau LOL.

Ultimately both ships offer great stuff and like I said I am all about the new ships. But in this case, I'd absolutely take the Gem. If it were a 7-day Gem and a 7-day Getaway, my answer would be different. But I'd go 11 days on the Gem.

I have an 11-day cruise booked for this October on the "Gem" and I am looking at the "Getaway"~~but would have to fly to Florida~~do not know what to do? Any suggestions?:)

Many people would prefer the GEM over Breakaway, even if the same cost, ports and departure port. They just are not big with megaships. Of course, others want the newest, biggest, etc. Not sure what you prefer.

Having to fly to the ship vs not is a BIG difference. That for us would be a massive difference in our case.

You would drive or something to the Gem?
