Recent Blackout

There was no looting or crime sprees. Power was restored to most of the island before sundown on Thursday, with the exception of Hamilton. I don't recall any report of break-ins in Hamilton.

 

 

Looting would be a very strange thing to try to do in Bermuda. With only 60,000 people on the island a looter will be easily idenified. I remember when a couple of guys brandished some machetes at a soccer game and were caught on camera. When the photo was published in the paper the three Bermudian ladies sitting next to me at the office could identify every person in the photo, including bystanders in the stands! It was "Hey that's Deneeka's cousin there in the red, and isn't that Mr. Trott from Devonshire? What was Marcus thinking taking a machete to a game . . . " It was funny. :D

Thanks for your response...you bring up a very valid point that I had not thought of. Guess that is why car theft would not be a good thing to do also?
