Midwestgal Posted February 10, 2014 #1 Share Posted February 10, 2014 I received a letter from Carnival stating that I get a free cabin for myself and a guest. I would pay port charges and taxes and it would be probably the worst cabin on the ship but it has me looking at airfare prices. Anyone else get this letter and what do you know about this???? Its real. We got two letters. We sail in less than a month. Offer was for inside cabin for $50 plus ports with $50 per person OBC. We upgraded to Aft Balcony for $140 extra. So $240 plus ports with $100 OBC. Second offer we have not decided on yet.

TanIslandGirl Posted February 11, 2014 #18 Share Posted February 11, 2014 :) DH got the letter by snail mail today. I have a cabin on 24 hour hold since my Carnival rep didn't return my call. Curious....did you all spend some time in the casino on your last cruise? Both DH & I did & are wondering if this is related to that?
Rare LittleMissMagic Posted February 11, 2014 #19 Share Posted February 11, 2014 (edited) I booked mine over the phone just to be sure! I got the letter in the mail today. Just booked an 8-day Southern Caribbean cruise on the Carnival Breeze!!! Also, I haven't cruised Carnival since 2010, and I spent no time in the casino. But I think this is an awesome promotion because I was considering several cruises for spring break, and Carnival wasn't even on my list (to be quite honest, I was rather content with never sailing Carnival again). But I'm not passing up a free cruise! And now I have plenty of money to put towards my bar tab!! TanIslandGirl Posted February 11, 2014 #21 Share Posted February 11, 2014 Congrats to all of us! Any ideas of places to stay in Miami? Not sure what price point you would be interested in but I was very happy with the Courtyard by Marriott Downtown, 200 SE 2nd Ave, Miami We have also stayed at a LaQuinta in Miami that was very reasonably priced but in a crazy location & was almost impossible to find at night. I have never used Priceline but have had many friends who get great deals using the site.
maitaiguy Posted February 11, 2014 #22 Share Posted February 11, 2014 DD was just contacted by Carnival for a free cruise that must be taken by June. Being the cautious dad I had her call the regular Carnival 800 number from the website. (We all know there are lots of scams out there!) It's legit! She hasn't booked it yet. She isn't sure where she wants to fly to, or possibly avoid the airport and drive to Long Beach for the Mexican Riviera cruise. Boy, is she excited!!! She has been on two 7 day cruises out of Galveston with friends and family. Mrs. Maitaiguy and I didn't go with her on those trips. I wish Carnival would contact me!!! We were on the 12 day European inaugural for Sunshine last May. Sure is great for DD though! I'm happy for her but just a bit jealous......
kmarie10531 Posted February 11, 2014 #23 Share Posted February 11, 2014 We received a letter like that in October and just got back from our cruise in January . There was three of us that went so we had to pay a little extra for the 3rd person but a 7 day cruise with a balcony room for three people cost the amount of ONE person in a balcony room on a 7 day cruise ... It was awesome Sent from my iPhone using Forums
