Michidoeme Posted February 11, 2014 #1 Share Posted February 11, 2014 Looking at the Hotel Five in Seattle for our 2-day post cruise stay without car in September as it seems to be very central. Any experiences ? Also recommendable for 60 plus ? We´d like clean rooms, comfortable beds.
Rare Gardyloo Posted February 11, 2014 #2 Share Posted February 11, 2014 You should be fine. The Hotel 5 is the former Ramada Inn, but taken over a few years ago by Pineapple Hospitality, which runs the Maxwell Hotel on Lower Queen Anne and two hotels (Watertown and University Inn) in the University District. It's a good operation, and reportedly the Hotel 5 has had a complete makeover from its rather shabby Ramada days. The location is excellent. Rare martincath Posted February 11, 2014 #3 Share Posted February 11, 2014 We stayed here - it looks nothing like a Ramada any more! Very stylish, although a rather brash style. Quality of mattresses, room fixtures are up to expected from Pineapple (comfy, with in-room Keurig-type pod coffee machines as well as all the regular stuff). Easy walk to Westlake, a Bartell Drugs, monorail. All looked new & clean last year at least. We'd stay again at the right price.
Michidoeme Posted February 19, 2014 Author #4 Share Posted February 19, 2014 Thanks for response. So if I can book rate of 158$ excl. taxes, this doesn't look bad at all for September weekend in downtown Seattle.
Sandpiper13 Posted February 20, 2014 #5 Share Posted February 20, 2014 We stayed there last year and while not 'posh' it is comfortable, clean and a great location for walking around downtown Seattle. Oh, and if you want to catch a quick meal try the restaurant attached to the hotel. It is a simple diner but my goodness the food is to die for! Don't miss the opportunity just because it is a small independent.
vincent15 Posted March 4, 2014 #6 Share Posted March 4, 2014 We stayed there last year before our Alaska cruise - we loved it. The complimentary pineapple cupcakes in the lobby are really a treat. Fascinating décor, close to the Seattle waterfront and the cruise port. We would definitely stay there again. Excellent breakfast in the hotel restaurant.
