When we sailed on Beyond this Spring, capacity was only about 1/3. And even then staff had issues which we kindly assigned to beginners difficulties 😉. Heard and read that, although it went up during Summer months, passenger count never reached full capacity.

This sounds like it is being completely mismanaged by Celebrity - or not managed at all. Especially on a TA could be classed as gross negligence.

We usually booked Aqua on the S ships, mainly for Blu. But on Beyond we preferred SV with the aft balconies and were very happy with the 4 smaller main restaurants which we alternated every night. We will not spend money anymore for Aqua on Edge class.

I understand that for most of you it is not about the money. But on several previous blogs it was a factor and people even in suites complained about the additional $.

Yes it is an additional, not expected expense. But I am always puzzled why people that spend thousands on cruise, airfare, hotels, excursions etc, balk at an additional 40 $ and make such fuzz about it ?

I definitely ordered it on the classic package. But there are other Irish cream and Bailey-like liquors. Not sure which Celebrity uses or if they would use Baileys also in Classic cocktails. i have noticed it also depends on bartender what they give you or if you have to pay a small surcharge for certain drinks. They also rarely have a menu with all drinks and prices (beside the specials in that particular bar or restaurant). I did not pay attention and am not enough of a connaisseur to taste difference in mixed drink.

So no more put away or given out individually at reception due to Covid. Lets hope it remains that way. thanks

Any books in library ?

We were in Beyond SV 9323. It was only minimally shaded and we found it mostly too hot to be out long, depending in which direction vis a vis sun we sailed. Cabin was great if you don t mind rather long walk to stairs/elevators and front of ship. For us this cabin was preferable over IV. Balcony is see thru. There was some soot and noise ( motor/wake) but not too bad and not noticeable with balcony doors closed.

On Beyond in May there was the regular drink service in theatre.

How did you bid with two rooms booked to ensure you stay together, ie not only one move up offer was accepted instead of both. And how / where did you indicate you d like two rooms close to each other ? We have 2 rooms side by side booked now and are very hesitant to bid as we don t want to end up on different floors or different sides of the ship. thanks

On Beyond in Mai we could book X bus transfer from Civitavecchia port to FCO for 65 or 69 Euros or USD pp ( do not remember exactly and not much difference anymore between Euro and USD). But we used a shared shuttle of Rome Limousines also because we could time it better (various times to chose from)and was only USD 80 per couple. They were very punctual and good.

Originally the relaxation area on S class was reserved for persons that had spa appointments and Aqua passengers. And they indeed asked to see your Aqua seapass and made a note in their book of the cabin number. In those days (we started sailing Aqua class in 2010 ), there was a desk before entering the relaxation area with usually spa personnel stationed there or hanging around This was on several S class ships. We noticed the desk outside the relaxation room was no longer manned regularly and nobody bothered to check seapasses anymore maybe around 4-5 years ago.

I noticed same thing when mock booking for a single room. However when I tried same room for two persons, there was choice for cruise only and for all included. Strange enough for exactly same price. When I went to summary page it indeed mentioned beverage package, gratuities, internet all included.

We got a rose or a couple flowers from the captains Club host during the last several cruises.

We had very good experience via https://democratest.com/. They have several locations in Barcelona (some are not open during weekend). Reservation online. We went to the one close to Las Ramblas/Ronda Sant Pau. Was a bit difficult to find because it is a dental/veneer clinic and the Covid test was not indicated outside. Cost ca 25 Euro and we waited about 25 min for result they send per email. Just that they don t speak much English so not much conversation possible.

We were on Beyond in May. Could not find anything for our grandchildren or us to spend our OBC on (not into designer handbags and would never buy real jewelry on a ship). Pre covid we bought good t shirts or hoodies on S-class, but on Beyond they did not have the standard stuff. We spent some on excursions and got rest out thru money laundering in casino 🙂

As the taxi line can be long, maybe order a car or Uber in advance ?

I never read other boards and have only cruised with X.

I have seen people mention here that they noted “no upgrade” on their reservation. Where can I do that online on my reservation on X website or Ap ? As we have 2 of the few connecting concierge cabins, we don t want to risk an upgrade of one or both.
