Have just booked this hotel pre cruise for Dec before we board Sapphire Princess - apart from the quality, the location looks perfect.

Please could I have some thoughts about this hotel - good choice ?

The hotel is standard intercom and quite neat…

You will be in the thick of things viz local shopping, traffic (although ok inside the hotel), and close to wherever you want to go…..there's a MRT (tube) station close by and lots of activites……should be ok if you are not in for "peace and quiet….."

Twenty years ago the IC used to be The Regent and was one of HK's very best hotels. We stayed there in those days and count it as one of the great hotel experiences we've ever had. The location remains probably the best in the city, affording a simply amazing view of HK island from its restaurants as well as its more expensive rooms. By the way, it's pointless staying here unless you pay for that view. However, the hotel's public areas are now looking their age and since IC took it over the ambience has become a little more mass market/packagy than it used to be. Last month, for old time's sake, we had booked their seafood buffet but I'm afraid we walked out as it seemed fairly bog standard and canteen/clattery for the prices asked, so we went back to our hotel, the Four Seasons. And that's the rub, newer hotels like the FS leave this place standing, as does the Peninsula which is always renewing itself. That said, the rooms at the IC have been modernised I think and that location makes up for a lot of shortcomings.

Just stayed there last month. It was a really nice hotel, our accomodations were lovely, we had no issues with anything at all.

We were put in the new wing which was beautiful, and booked with breakfast which was well done and changed daily.

This location was easy to get to MBS hotel and grounds, also SunTec Center where we picked up the HoHo bus...

All in all a great choice!
