Need help in miami !!!!

Flying in to Miami from Texas on April 25th for cruise on the 26th on Carnival Breeze. Flight gets in about 12pm on the 25th. Never been to Miami and want to site see that day and also need help booking a hotel room. We are in our 50's and very active. Like beach activities, discovering new places and food, etc.. Also, will have a full day to enjoy Miami when we return from cruise on Sunday. Any suggestions on hotels and things to do??? What is the must see and do things in Miami?????

The "Miami" you see in the movies and on TV shows is actually the city of Miami Beach; taxi from MIA to the South Beach section is about $32+tip. Lots of hotels, dining, shopping, nightlife, etc. -- and a great beach! ;)

Totally agree with john. For sure research the Miami Beach/South Beach area. THat is where you want to be. Miami is "mainland" and just a huge city.

We just spent 5 days in S beach and had a blast. Look at La Flora as a reasonably priced small hotel in a great location on 12th and Collins. One block from beach and Ocean Dr. An easy walk to Lincoln Road and Espanola Way, Art Deco area, tours etc You can keep as busy as you'd like.
