Tina.w12 Posted February 17, 2014 #1 Share Posted February 17, 2014 I am on From Cyprus with Love in April and I am wondering which dock Thomson uses in Lisbon, reseach shows there are 3 quite far apart. I am trying to sort a DIY. Thanks :D:D
WeeCountyMan Posted February 17, 2014 #2 Share Posted February 17, 2014 (edited) The Hop On/Hop Off buses visit each terminal of the two docks I'm aware of. It's the best way to DIY Lisbon IMO. You can save a few Euros by booking in advance - there is more than one company, so best to do your homework online first. We went with this (red bus) outfit and there are two routes - download the map for specifics. http://www.city-sightseeing.com/tours/portugal/lisbon.htm I can't recall the name of the stop (red route) for Alcantara dock - but it does pickup and drop off there - stop 1 ? You are almost right under the big bridge over the Tagus. If it's the other dock I'm thinking off - it's stop 9, Santa Apolonia Estacion, on the blue route. There is another HOHO (yellow bus) firm but we have no experience of them. It may include a free tram ride ? One recommendation - if you have your own headphones than I would take them with you, the ones supplied always hurt my ears !!! WeeCountyMan Posted February 17, 2014 #4 Share Posted February 17, 2014 I would thoroughly recommend getting off at stop 6 RED route / stop 23 BLUE route at the top of the Parque Eduardo VII and walking down through the park to shared RED/BLUE stop 1 Marques do Pombal. From there you can rejoin either route as the mood takes you. There is a nice cafe restaurant at the top end of the park, just off to the left as you head down - it has a pond with ducks and swans and does lovely cakes etc.
