Putterdude Posted March 30, 2014 #26 Share Posted March 30, 2014 If you Google their site you will see their location but essentially they are on the Causeway which runs along the Inner Harbour just beyond the Empress Hotel and it would be about a 25 min walk from the cruise terminal...all level and well marked. PofW were really kind of the pioneers of whale watching in Victoria and are good operators, I am sure that you will be happy with them. Just be sure to determine that their sked aligns with yours. cibaygirls Posted April 4, 2014 #27 Share Posted April 4, 2014 Thanks so much Putterdude. I have checked out the schedules and made my reservation. Now I need time to pass by quickly so we can get there. Thanks for all of your help
Nodales Posted April 9, 2014 #28 Share Posted April 9, 2014 Do you recommend a whale watching company? Personally I wouldn't recommend Prince of Whales. Seen them making too many illegal moves around the whales.
DaycareEm Posted April 29, 2014 #29 Share Posted April 29, 2014 Another Victoria resident here. If you like gardens, sign up for a Butchart's Garden tour (http://www.butchartgardens.com/) either through your ship or indepenently with some roll call friends. It is about 30-40 min from the cruiseport.(it may not be open in the evenings yet) Downtown is about a 20 min walk through a pleasant area, here is a link with some info and the various routes you can take into town http://victoriacruise.ca/. There are lots of shops restaurants and pubs on Government St, if you and your roll call is inclined it would be a nice thing to go on a pub crawl along the street http://www.tourismvictoria.com/. Nothing rowdy. Just a few destinations as you walk the street browsing in shops. Most of the pubs are indepenent, have an Old World feel and are nice to drink in. If you and your roll call are interested in getting a group together and doing the stroll/pub crawl let me know and I will try to help you plan it out. Cheers, h Hi there, We are going to be in Victoria on the Norwegian Pearl on June 7. We weren't sure about booking a tour, I looked at your link for the walking map and it says it is a 40 minute walk to down town? Is this round trip or each way. We would love to just walk around, maybe see some sights, do some shopping...
cruiseryyc Posted April 29, 2014 #30 Share Posted April 29, 2014 Unless you walk really, really slow and stop to smell some flowers it should NOT take 40 minutes to walk from Ogden Point to downtown - I'd say 20 to 30 minutes; closer to 20. klm9851 Posted April 30, 2014 #31 Share Posted April 30, 2014 Check out the Victoria Harbor Ferry. They offer a Pickel Pub crawl. For every group of four a free appitizer is given at each pub you visit!
