Your latest choice runs into president's day week-end. May want to avoid that date.

I agree with S'WELL, avoid President's Week. Many schools in the north have that week off. If you want less little people go 2-1 or 2-8. Probably cheaper also!

We are sailing 2-1-15 on the Sun, when we sail out of Tampa we have stayed at Marriott Waterside but if you want the beach Clearwater would be nice but probably crowded. Any week on the Sun will be wonderful, she is our favorite ship!

Yes! Book 2/1 and join our roll call! I just booked the Holiday Inn Rocky Point for the night prior to the cruise. It is a good price and the hotel is nice. The price includes transportation for 2 to the port. When we plan on being somewhere for more than 1 night we try to book something closer to major attractions but for this cruise we are spending several days before in the Orlando area so basically just need a hotel, breakfast and transportation to the port plus when we drop off our rental car earlier that day they will pick us up at the airport also.

We just got off a cruise 11 days ago (our 15th), so we're taking a long weekend land vacation in May near Tampa. Since it's cheaper to fly into Orlando vs. Tampa, we're arriving at 10:00 AM on a Thursday and going straight to a theme park in Orlando for the day. Then we're making the 1 hr. drive to Tampa that night and staying for 3 nights at St. Pete Beach. We really like the beach access & restaurants/shops within walking distance of the Grand Plaza Hotel there. So we booked it. But there are cheaper hotels on or near the beach on St. Pete's Beach. Our flight home on Sunday isn't until 7:00 PM. So we're going to the horse races in Tampa that day before driving the hour back to Orlando for our flight home. By the way, we are booked on the Sun to Alaska in 2015. So we'll be ready to cruise again by then and are looking forward to trying the Sun.

D.W. and I spent 5 day's In the florida keys @ Marriott Largo Bay .Then drove up to Tampa the morning of our cruise .
