Funcouple Posted July 22, 2005 #2 Share Posted July 22, 2005 Are Mopeds allowed on the ferries? If so, all the ferries? or just a select few? I understand that the ferries between Hamilton and Dockyards (Kings Wharf) offer moped service. But none of the St George's ferries offer mopeds at all. I'm not sure about the South Shore ferries. salt_salt_salt Posted July 22, 2005 #3 Share Posted July 22, 2005 it's only a 20 minute drive with the moped, why ferry?
bermudashorts Posted July 23, 2005 #4 Share Posted July 23, 2005 We ferried the scooters a few years ago from Hamilton to Dockyard. Some in our group wanted to go to dockyard to see the shops so went with them. From there we went to Horseshoe bay. Although Ive never timed it, it has to be a good hour to scooter from Hamilton to Dockyard. The other time we used the ferries it was raining in Dockyard and we ferried to Hamilton because the ship was moving there. Made it simple and safe as we dont ride in the rain. Although some in our group did, and it took forever.. I think it was about $8 dollars to do it
Swizzle v2.0 Posted July 23, 2005 #5 Share Posted July 23, 2005 Hamilton to Dockyard is around 45 minutes to an hour by scooter. It is 20-25 minutes to Horseshoe Bay though.
gotmud Posted July 26, 2005 #6 Share Posted July 26, 2005 How far is it from St.George to Hamilton by scooter?
bermudashorts Posted July 26, 2005 #7 Share Posted July 26, 2005 Probably an hour or more. Have to be careful near St George, very sharp turns and curvy roads. Plus the roundabout there is where I almost got smacked by a bus. :D
