Rare cr8tiv1 Posted February 19, 2014 #2 Share Posted February 19, 2014 I was looking at Hawaii cruises last summer when interiors dropped to $999 on select sailings. I should have booked it then. When I became more serious about it in September to November, the fares did not drop again. Finally booked the same interior category for $200 more. And it was a fluke to find open cabins when I checked at 2 o'clock one morning in October. I doubt that there will be many good deals this season since the Grand (LA) and the Star (SF) will not be doing turn around trips. There are less voyages scheduled. In the past, the two ships did dedicated runs to the islands. I am currently booked on the Grand for February. It would be nice to see a price reduction, but am not holding my breath. I would say, with fewer cruises, they most likely will not go down. I have not booked it yet because the dates aren't working for us. RetiredNTraveling Posted February 19, 2014 #4 Share Posted February 19, 2014 Totally agree! Price drops will be few and far between. That being said, keep a sharp eye peeled to the PCL cruises. If there is a price drop, it will be for a very short time. Good luck and enjoy your cruise!
Working 2 Cruise Posted February 19, 2014 #5 Share Posted February 19, 2014 I also agree. Princess has drastically reduced the number of cruises to Hawaii so fares may not go down much, if at all. But since I don't have a crystal ball, this is just a best guess. You should expect to pay about the same fare that you booked this cruise. If, and it is a very small possibility, the fares drop a little, consider it a bonus but I wouldn't count on it.
